What Is Internet Content Development?

leave a comment »

Content development is also sometimes referred to as rich media. We define content development as writing, video, podcasts, or online interviews. Why is content development important? Simply put, new content drives people to your blog and creates a fan base or visitors.

You need visitors and a fan base to make money online. No fans, no business. No visitors, no business and no income. This is a serious issue. To overcome this, we recommend making original content and if you don’t know how to do that, hire us to write it for you.

Our writers have expertise in all types of subjects, products, and services across various industries. We can design your blog site, add analytics to it, and write new engaging content for your site each and every day. This new content is what drives visitors to your website to browse and purchase whatever you sell.

Sit Down With Obsessed Film Producer Will Packer

leave a comment »

For all intents and purposes, Will Packer is a star. His films have grossed over $100 Million in box office receipts in one year alone. But the greatest lesson lies in understanding what Mr. Packer did to excel to these levels.

In my radio interview with him on Beyond The Bling Radio, I go one on one with Will Packer.

Rainforest Films' Obsessed by Will Packer

Rainforest Films' Obsessed by Will Packer

This talented director, filmmaker, and CEO of Rainforest Films, has produced and directed Obsessed starring Beyonce Knowles and Idris Elba, Stomp The Yard, Stomp The Yard 2, and is presently putting the finishing touches on another blockbuster hit called Takers where he is working with Hollywood’s elite actors once again. You can download and listen to the complete motivating interview online here at Beyond The Bling Radio.

Get ready to get moving! This guy motivates everyone to action. Starting where we all start, with nothing but a dream and a prayer, Will Packer and Rob Hardy did what all true entrepreneurs do when challenged, they got busy. He removed all excuses for why he couldn’t succeed and started putting a plan together to realize his dreams. Armed with a laptop, passion, courage, wisdom, and prayer, this man made it from ZERO to 100 Million! You can too!

The Black Business Guide to LinkedIn Success

leave a comment »

LinkedIn sits idly by collecting dust for most individuals. About two years ago, a business associate asked me if my profile was on LinkedIn. I said no and didn’t think anything about it. He went on to tell me how he swears by Linkedin and how many connections he made on the social yet business website. I decided to try and see for myself what it does thinking it would give me some sort of huge advantage to grow my technology consulting business since technology services were in a slump.

Putting gas in the tank of LinkedIn

Putting gas in the tank of LinkedIn

I jumped on it. I took the time to upload all positions that I had done to provide services to America’s leading technology and consumer brand companies. You name it, I worked it: Apple Computer, Lucas Arts and Entertainment (makers of Star Wars), Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Verizon, etc. I was excited and with the economy being so low with hard to come by contracts anymore, I felt excited that this would now give me the inside track to decision makers who would see my resume and their eyes would pop out when they saw all of these big names on my LinkedIn profile. PLEASE! All EGO!

I waited for the first week thinking people would do a search, come across my profile, and my phone would be ringing off the hook with contract offers. I gave it another week. Maybe it takes a month. Nothing happened. So, as a former division 1 quarterback, I decided I would use my aggressive tactics and go after people instead of sitting passively waiting for them to find me the way I had grown my business in the Silicon Valley to over $100,000 per month in revenue. In those days, I never marketed my technology service business at all. I was a handful of people who knew the technology worldwide. Business came to me.

I joined groups that were directly in my niche offering. I then started discussions in my group where people didn’t really talk much. This simple act of becoming a non-passive communicator in these group discussions and leading discussions branded me as a thought leader. Once I became a thought leader, my reputation started to grow beyond the corporations listed on my resume. Once the reputation grew, business connects were now drawn to me and I started to grow the business itself.

Black College Students Required to Study Technology

leave a comment »

To fight through this recession and compete with immigrants for jobs, black students should be required to take mandatory technology courses in college. I would like to petition all Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) to make this mandatory in order to rebuild the black middle class. The technology can be any type of technology that should include software engineering classes, hardware engineering classes, bio-technology, and even pharmaceutical technology.

Black Students are the Future of the Middle Class

Black Students are the Future of the Middle Class

We already have enough artists. My twitter is filled with every young black man and woman headed to the studio and it seems like this is all young black people strive for. We need to get out of the studio and study hardcore math, technology, life sciences, and medical. If we don’t, we are headed for disaster.

I wrote an article on H1B Visa’s taking over and the Indian dude that commented wanted to insinuate that I didn’t know anything. Little did he know I’m a highly skilled software engineer and his people usually work for me. However, that’s me and I’m somewhat rare. We need to impart this into our youth and get out of the studio and into the math and computer science lab. We need more candidates considered for jobs at Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Genentech, Cisco Systems, etc.

HBCU’s need to make at least HTML and XML coding classes mandatory or at least an Oracle or Microsoft class and not let our kids skate through.

This Is A Full Media Online Marketing Assault

leave a comment »

Spinks Industries September 2009 sweeps numbers are in and have just been compiled. The results are staggering and proves that an aggressive marketing plan gets results. We measure results by clicks and actual reads of web stories. We did not factor in impressions. Impressions are valuable because this tells you how many people saw the title but we measure success in actual click throughs to the site and/or reads.

Spinks September 2009 numbers were 10,799 Total Click Throughs

Spinks September 2009 numbers were 10,799 Total Click Throughs

Our WordPress stories received 2,706 click throughs for the month of September. Our Spinks Industries articles received 968 Page Views for the month of September with visitors showing up from the USA, Canada, India, the UK, The Netherlands, Belgium, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, and Mexico. The average web visitor stayed on our site for 3 minutes and 38 seconds up from 90 days ago where they stayed for an average of 10 seconds.

Our Atlanta Examiner stories were read 6,850 times where the average amount of reads in the Business and Finance section of the newspaper for the month is 1,135. Our Ezinearticles were read 275 times. Our cumulative September ’09 sweeps numbers are an astounding 10,799 total click throughs/reads.

This proves that email marketing is dead and completely ineffective for doing any sort of marketing or brand awareness. In comparison, we delivered 1,000 emails to a highly targeted niche that we service in the Government market. Only 2 people clicked through and read the email. What is the moral? Google Wave will most likely destroy email which is a blessing and a great thing and you must put a full court press team together to get true marketing results.

Cisco Buying Tandberg for Billions

leave a comment »

At least some corporations are still cash rich. Cisco is buying video conference technology maker and Norwegian company Tandberg for a reported $3 Billion. The New York Times reports “Cisco’s corporate video conferencing products require the company to outfit a customer’s conference room with multiple, large displays, networking equipment and even special tables, chairs and wall paint. By contrast, Tandberg has a range of gear, including high-definition video systems that can sit on desks or be used with personal computers.

The all-cash deal has been recommended to Tandberg’s shareholders by that company’s directors and stands as an 11 percent premium over Tandberg’s closing price on Wednesday. Tandberg reported $809 million in revenue last year, and has close to $200 million in cash.”

Google Wave Just Another Social Network

leave a comment »

Google Wave software in the browser is touting itself as the next cool application to replace email. Yes, email is outdated and was developed 40 years ago. Yes, I’m way tired of over 70% of my email messages are marketing and spam messages. I would like to just close my email box and only use Google Wave to communicate. But this, just like other Social Media applications, is just for being social and talking to people about your wedding and when are you going to Chicago.

Google Wave

Google Wave

What business people want, like me, is a way to make business connections and build true customers via social networks. I love being able to connect to past friends via Facebook. I love being able to tell people that my dog pee’d on the floor this morning on Twitter and I love blasting people with my latest music via bulletins on Myspace but the question for all of us entrepreneurs is “Does it make me money?”

Business people do not have time for the next social media explosion if it’s just about discussing how to make a cake. Twitter is fading for me because the lack of intrinsic value to my business. When using Twitter to promote, the follower needle barely moves. When using it to discuss nonsense, my follower meter explodes especially if I’m talking about porn or being gay or something ignorant like that. The Twitter spam bots have it on lock and as soon as they see the key word, they follow me immediately. Who cares? Like my business needs a bunch of robots watching what I do!

Pre-Order Diary of a Wimpy Kid

I hope Google Wave lives up to it’s promise of increasing collaboration. I hope that collaboration leads to business growth for the small to medium sized business. What the business entrepreneur needs is a way to find people with like business interests to introduce and pitch their product to legitimately. We need Google Wave to be able to chat with real potential customers and increase the conversation so that they understand our business value and why they can use us.

We need Google Wave to be on our website and when visitors browse our website, jump on Google Wave and ask questions about our services or our products to increase customer interaction. We do not need it to discuss the children’s grades and if we are going to the skating rink on Friday night. This is old and boring. I have my darn phone for that.

How To Become The Best

leave a comment »

My friend Mike Pechina, an Olympic Judo Champion from San Bruno, California, always says “Repetition is the Mother of All Greatness”. Become the best is not an overnight thing. Becoming the best whatever you choose in your life has everything to do with constant action and effort. No one person has a lock on being the best. Mary J. Blige may be the best R&B singer. P. Diddy may be the best urban clothing designer. Why? How? Why is Lil Wayne the best rapper alive? How did they do it? How did they get there?

Judo Champion Mike Pechina

Judo Champion Mike Pechina

There is no secret to being the best. There is no magic wand. I knew Puffy when he had a black and white business card with a little baby boy on it. I met him at the Gavin Convention and he was just starting out. He just kept going at it. This is your key to becoming the best you. Find out your passion and then just stay at it until it starts to pay. The key is doing it until you start to see financial results. Unless you’re not in it for money. But, if you’re in it to make money, keep after it every single day.

Do not wait until some magical condition or some magical moment to start being the best you. I heard someone say that they were waiting until all things were perfect and until things started popping off to get going. This is ignorant. There is no thing to wait for. Websites are free now on WordPress. You don’t need a ton of money to get cracking. You need passion, energy, commitment, and work effort to become the best.

Aim high and shoot straight and keep doing your thing every single day. Even do it 7 times per day if you can. The key in being the best lies within you. Only you will determine how high and how far you can go. And remember, you can be down and behind in the count and still hit the ball out of the park.
