The Guide To Mobile Blogging
This week, I’m traveling to close on some corporate deals and finally installed WordPress for iPhone on my phone. This application is very nice and useful for the mobile business person.
I’m able to post once on the iPhone and my blog posting is then fed automatically to both Twitter and my Facebook fan page. I cosign this feature. You’ve got to first start by downloading the WordPress iPhone free application from iTunes.com. Then, sync it to your iPhone. Once you sync it and it loads to your iPhone, you can then log into your WordPress blog account from your phone. Posting is very easy. The only difficult part that I had once trying to type full paragraphs and having the patience to do so on my iPhone. Other than my own weakness, it works great.
Oakland Raiders Coach Could Be Arrested on Assault Charges
As if the Oakland Raiders, who can’t move the ball down the field, don’t have enough problems with their football team, another potential HUGE issue has surfaced. It seems as though Head Coach Tom Cable is being accused of assault by one of his assistant coaches from back on August 5, 2009. Details are somewhat sketchy but it appears as though Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson has accused head coach Tom Cable of punching him and breaking his jaw.
I reached out to the Raiders and they have not returned my calls or any of my Tweets regarding this issue or on the matter of the decline of the Raiders offense. On Sunday, I tweeted to the organization to see what they were going to do with struggling quarterback JaMarcus Russell who continues to have problems getting the teams offense working on all cylinders. This latest news does not help with team chemistry. During yesterday’s football game, it was already obvious that the team is losing confidence as players fumbled the ball, dropped the ball, and seemed to become unglued. Stay tuned for details on this story.

Dreams Do Really Come True
On Friday, I was doing my daily mountain climb in the San Francisco Bay Area. The trail is long and is roughly 6 miles. 3 miles out and 3 miles back. It is not easy but it really teaches you persistence and hard work. While on the trail, I go over my daily goals and aspirations and put together my strategies to make the dream work.
I also do visualizations while on the trail as I look at the peak of Mt. Diablo dreaming about making these dreams come real. I made a statement to myself saying that I wanted to increase my website traffic to generate over 4,000 actual hits for the month of October 2009. I didn’t think anything of it and kept jogging. I actually had a lot of things on my mind but I like to put those aside when on this trail. I deal with myself, God, and me and nothing more while on this trail. It’s when God speaks to me the most.
I came back to the house, showered, and got busy working and laying down my plans. Friday evening, a call comes to me from one of my clients in Atlanta, GA to tell me about a story of interest. I contemplated whether or not I should run the story since it was such short notice. I decided to run it, thought no more about it, and went out with friends for drinks and then came back home and went to bed.
I woke up Saturday morning October 3, 2009 at about 8:00 a.m. to head to the mountain again. Before I set out on this daily journey, I decided to check my Google Analytics and stats for all web publishing sites. I had over 7,000 hits of that story in less than 12 hours from posting it. Remember, Friday morning on the trail I had asked God to help me get to 4,000 for the month. Not only was this answered but it was far exceeded.
This is an example of visualization and actualization. Dreams do become reality with these two ingredients and it will happen for you too. I had no idea that it would be like that. I just put the dream out to the universe and let the Universal Mind and Spirit take over. Please keep your dreams alive and continue to push forward to reach all of your goals. There are no limits as you see God helped me completely destroy my own self imposed limit of 4,000 for the entire month.

Black College Students Required to Study Technology
To fight through this recession and compete with immigrants for jobs, black students should be required to take mandatory technology courses in college. I would like to petition all Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) to make this mandatory in order to rebuild the black middle class. The technology can be any type of technology that should include software engineering classes, hardware engineering classes, bio-technology, and even pharmaceutical technology.
We already have enough artists. My twitter is filled with every young black man and woman headed to the studio and it seems like this is all young black people strive for. We need to get out of the studio and study hardcore math, technology, life sciences, and medical. If we don’t, we are headed for disaster.
I wrote an article on H1B Visa’s taking over and the Indian dude that commented wanted to insinuate that I didn’t know anything. Little did he know I’m a highly skilled software engineer and his people usually work for me. However, that’s me and I’m somewhat rare. We need to impart this into our youth and get out of the studio and into the math and computer science lab. We need more candidates considered for jobs at Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Genentech, Cisco Systems, etc.
HBCU’s need to make at least HTML and XML coding classes mandatory or at least an Oracle or Microsoft class and not let our kids skate through.
Black Enterprise Spinks Industries Partners with Americas Top Brands
We are now representing some of America’s top brands in a deal with The Google Affiliate Network. Gerard Spinks, CEO, says that the deal will further Spinks Industries’ mission to continue to build passive income and multiple streams of income while representing America’s top consumer brands.
Mr. Spinks has selected brands to represent that personally meant something to him and his firm and/or products that we have actually used and know their quality. Out of many brands, Spinks Industries, decided on a handful that include Converse, iRobot, Barnes and Nobles, Dickies, PUMA, The Finish Line, Blockbuster, KMART, SONY Playstation, Skechers, and Hooked on Phonics.
Mr. Spinks believes these brands have name awareness and are of the highest quality standards. He selected the brands due to his affiliation with numerous groups. Mr. Spinks has also had long time personal use with many of the brands and knows their quality. It was easy to pick, support, and promote these brands.
This Is A Full Media Online Marketing Assault
Spinks Industries September 2009 sweeps numbers are in and have just been compiled. The results are staggering and proves that an aggressive marketing plan gets results. We measure results by clicks and actual reads of web stories. We did not factor in impressions. Impressions are valuable because this tells you how many people saw the title but we measure success in actual click throughs to the site and/or reads.
Our WordPress stories received 2,706 click throughs for the month of September. Our Spinks Industries articles received 968 Page Views for the month of September with visitors showing up from the USA, Canada, India, the UK, The Netherlands, Belgium, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, and Mexico. The average web visitor stayed on our site for 3 minutes and 38 seconds up from 90 days ago where they stayed for an average of 10 seconds.
Our Atlanta Examiner stories were read 6,850 times where the average amount of reads in the Business and Finance section of the newspaper for the month is 1,135. Our Ezinearticles were read 275 times. Our cumulative September ’09 sweeps numbers are an astounding 10,799 total click throughs/reads.
This proves that email marketing is dead and completely ineffective for doing any sort of marketing or brand awareness. In comparison, we delivered 1,000 emails to a highly targeted niche that we service in the Government market. Only 2 people clicked through and read the email. What is the moral? Google Wave will most likely destroy email which is a blessing and a great thing and you must put a full court press team together to get true marketing results.

Cisco Buying Tandberg for Billions
At least some corporations are still cash rich. Cisco is buying video conference technology maker and Norwegian company Tandberg for a reported $3 Billion. The New York Times reports “Cisco’s corporate video conferencing products require the company to outfit a customer’s conference room with multiple, large displays, networking equipment and even special tables, chairs and wall paint. By contrast, Tandberg has a range of gear, including high-definition video systems that can sit on desks or be used with personal computers.
The all-cash deal has been recommended to Tandberg’s shareholders by that company’s directors and stands as an 11 percent premium over Tandberg’s closing price on Wednesday. Tandberg reported $809 million in revenue last year, and has close to $200 million in cash.”
